Internal Combustion

It started with a moan.

The crank shaft pushed the rod into the combustion chamber, resting right up to her spark plug. Then came the spark, a moment of heat, and the force of the piston met resistance. It sped back for another turn, gathering speed and lubrication. The heat scorched her at over a hundred, turning her cylinders red hot. She exhaled with a rumble, then a roar.
