Mirror

I wake up, stare at myself in the mirror. There’s a red spot on the side of my face and my hair is turned up. It’s black and greasy. Some stubble is poking out of my cheeks. My eyes don’t even look open. It’s a wonder I can see out of them. There’s white flecks on the side of my mouth where I was drooling. I open my mouth, wave my tongue around. Everything seems dry in the morning. Dry and dirty. Time to get wet and clean.

That last sentence may sound dirty, but it’s really just about showering… I think.
